Sussex Outreach Services (SOS), the social ministry arm of the Cooperating Churches of Sussex is pleased to announce the hire of Jennifer Waltz as Executive Director.  Jennifer and her family have lived in Sussex going on 4 years.  She loves our community and the sense of family that living here brings.  This is the place she calls home and chooses to raise her family.

Jennifer has worked in leadership roles in several other faith based social service agencies, serving all types of clients.  Initially, her focus will be working with the many committed volunteers at our food pantry and SOS.  She will become acquainted with and foster relationships with the many groups, clubs, and organizations in our community who have been so supportive and invested in the vital work of SOS.  Jennifer brings her seven years of experience and a sense of excitement in collaborating with those who are the heart and soul of SOS.

Jennifer joins Trish Anderson, our case worker and a part-time support staffer.  All of our staff, including the Executive Director, are part-time SOS employees serving those in need, within the Hamilton School District. 

We currently serve just over 500 eligible households in our community, approximately 400% higher than five years ago.  As a result, SOS continues to face growing financial need to cover our operating expenses.  Every dollar that goes to staff support multiplies up to five times as we work with clients to access various forms of aid they are eligible for.  Recently, SOS was able to help a local family, who had lost their home and was living in a nearby park.  Our assistance secured an apartment, furniture, basic needs and a job for one of the parents. Both children are in school with all the supplies they need.  Every cent you give to SOS makes this kind of healing and hope possible.
