Did you know? Hunger is a world wide problem; one that reaches into our local neighborhood. Who in our neighborhood? Our neighbors that are struggling to make ends meet. They are single parents, one income families, low income families, disabled individuals and older adults. These people are often the working poor, or those experiencing temporary job losses or life crises. Why feed them? Eating is the most basic need of a human being. Hunger is often at the root of many problems. Hunger has economic consequences. Societies that have hungry citizens have children that don't have the ability to concentrate in school and people that are mal-nourished and thus more likely to have medical problems which strain medical resources and diminish job performance. You probably interact with some of these people in your day to day experiences and probably don't know it. They look like the rest of us.
